Activation Codes
I posted this question in another topic but i thought i'd better have it in its own topic so i get more specialised answers (No offense alias_X) But i installed the game on 1 machine, with the activation code but that machine cant run GW. When i my machine gets back from repair i will be istalling it onto that. Question is, is the activation code like a CD key where it can be used on multiple machines, but only 1 at a time, or is it a 1 shot per machine type thing?
Thanks in advance

You can use that Account ANYWHERE in the World, no matter were you are. It's just for your Account, not on your Machine.

Once you use the code to create an account, you'll never need that code again.
Once your account is created, you can log onto ANY computer, install GW, and play using your login/password.

Thats good news but how sure are you? Forgive my scepticsism(SP?) cos I had to enter the code on installation, not when setting up the account.

It should let you, if it doesn't, then download Guild Wars Client directly here;

I think you use the cd key to install the game on any computer the first time(I have it on two so far) but after the first install you don't even need the cd to play the game, you just need to put in your id and password and you're off and running.

I have set up my account and installed Guildwars. Since them my pc has gone through a complete format and re-installation of windows without any problems. I have also grabed the web client and installed gw on a friend's pc and logged in to show them guildwars.
It is important if you account ever got stolen and you have to prove your account to anet.

I have used the CD key ONCE and that was when I set up my account the first time I installed GW. I carry the complete Guild Wars directory on my 2GB USB stick and can copy it to ANY computer I have access to and begin playing.
I have also (when i forgot my USB stick) downloaded the client from guildwars.com, run it, typed in my username/password and begun playing.
The only reason you will ever need the activation key is if someone highjacks your account and you have to prove it to ArenaNet.
The only reason you need the CD is if you want to save time from downloading all of the files again when reinstalling.

I would keep that code with you incase you get problems with your account and need some kind of proof that you own the game, if you don't have the box that is.
